We have some amazing entries for our Valentine's Giveaway on The Country Cook! You can enter this as well - click here: http://goo.gl/3syJX
The way we set it up, we are getting all sorts of compliments as one requirement was to share which room you liked best and why. So this is really sweet. I am enjoying why they choose the room they choose. Then a total social media blitz. Pass this on if you know anyone who is interested. Thx.

Wow!! Wonderful idea and it looks as if you are getting great responses.
Added it to both my B & B page and my personal page.

JB, this is a fantastic idea and I just might have to steal it from you (once again) and team up with my favorite blogger who happens to be just an hour away from us! How many 'likes' have you gotten from this on FB? Pinners on Pinterest?

You're so damn brilliant! Great idea that we all should steal

Wow! That's pretty impressive. (Number of new FB likes.) This is a brilliant idea, too!

Well, I just heard back from my blogger who said that the bulk of her readership wasn't really from our area and if it didn't include a 2 night with transportation, it wouldn't work.
So much for that one. I will try to find another way to make this work for us.

Without even trying it won't work? There's a pessimist for you. What's not to work? One person wins. Either they show up or they don't. You both get publicity for it.

I was able to explain to our blogger that 99% of our guests are NOT FROM THE AREA. I think, they think they are locals who stay with us or something. Once she understood she was excited!
I am not giving two nights away, perhaps the lucky winner will add on a night of their own and make it a longer stay. If it were me, and I won one night, I would certainly pay for an addtl night to make it worth my while.

Tell your blogger how far they travel for the B & Bs For Vets one-nughter. LOCALS are not going to come - it is people who do not live in the area who WILL come and they will come for one night. If not, who gives a rat's - you git the publicity and did not have to spend one extra penny for the marketing! You have one VERY dense blogger.

Unprecedented access to information and new technologies have empowered consumers and business buyers with the ability to tune out marketing messages with ease. In most cases, when given the choice, they choose to skip these messages. -JustFab

Paper Valentines became so popular in England in the early 19th century that they were assembled in factories. Fancy Valentines were made with real lace and ribbons, with paper lace introduced in the mid-19th century.-JustFab

This is the type of thing that I have come against over and over and over here. No one wants to partner. The local kayaking company, restaurants, etc have all turned me down. They are all very myopic. I just don't get it.

Update:
Since I was not able to pair with a blogger, I decided to do a contest myself. Cowabunga!!! The results are amazing so far! On our FB page, I posted a 1 night free gift certificate (all regular reservation and cancellation policies apply) and it expires at the end of the year.
I posted it 12 hours ago (8:30pm) and we now have 125 new fans (we started with 611), it's been shared 234 times and the stats say that it's been seen by 13,728 people!
I've got the contest going until 3/31, so I plan on posting it a couple more times before the end of the month.
I think this may actually be better than pairing with a blogger because it's using our fan base to spread the word. Hopefully their friends are the same general 'type' people and would like what their friends like.
To enter our contest, they must 'like' our page and then they must 'share' the post on their page. I'll then take all the names for the shares and put them in a randomizer and have it pick a name at random.
