now that my sister has changed her diet to wheat free, she is feeling so much better. and we in the family are all learning. i am experimenting with other kinds of flour instead of wheat flour... as i love to bake and want to bring things to family gatherings that she can eat. she isn't demanding it, just doesn't eat whatever it is. but won't it be nice to say 'you can eat this.'

I've mentioned this site before but worth mentioning again, especially if you want to do some from-scratch home baking for your sister. The woman behind it is a good friend of mine, but more than that, she just wrote a cookbook on gluten-free living (but most of the recipes are available free on her blog!).

My friend's husband is GF....I turned her on to Kin g A rthur Flour's Gluten Free blend, and she really likes it. You just sub it out for flour in a recipe. I like KAF products in general and they have a nice collection of recipes on their website.
It's pricey but it seems to be worth it. They also have GF plain muffin mix - you add your own fruit.
I also saw almond-milk based vegan yogurt at the grocery store tonight as well.
