Guest calls X to cancel. I agree to cancel, but as per the contract, the charge is one night. Ten minutes later, the guest calls me to beg me to not charge them for the one night, telling me that they know people who go to the local university, etc. And if I don't agree, they are going to call up the credit card company and cancel the charge. But I simply said, that's the policy. Do what you need to do.
Here's the thing... I don't get paid by them, I get paid by X with a virtual CC, as far as I know, X has charged them for the one night last month when they made the reservation. I look at the reservation, they didn't really pay attention to anything... it has a request for a ground floor room (I don't have any and it specified that I have lots of stairs, stairs to the front door, stairs to the room and the room they reserved... top floor.)
But this is the first time that a guest had called directly after talking to X. But it's definitely clear, this person didn't read and in spite of not being in good health, is travelling without insurance. WHY? You aren't in good health, you have MORE of a reason to read.
