There is a second bed, but no bedding in the room to go with it. It's set up as a single daybed. If you know how to open it, it's a king. But no sheets, no towels and of course we are around all the time.Especially on such a big evening where you know they will be staying up late if they stay in. And wondering if their friends are sleeping on the floor..

And you have the CC# for extra charges if they do remain, and for some not having sheets doesn't stop 'em. And not even a honeymoon night, yep that surprise 3rd wheel even came down for breakfast, broke our sofa bed too.Sugar Bear said:There is a second bed, but no bedding in the room to go with it. That made not a bit of diff to guests who brought their great grandchild with them the other day. Grandpa took the duvet and slept on the floor.Sugar Bear said:There is a second bed, but no bedding in the room to go with it. It's set up as a single daybed. If you know how to open it, it's a king. I had to go up there at 10PM and tell them that they needed to quiet down. Apparently they invited more people up to the room. Ugh!
Well, this morning, we had to go into the room and remind them of check-out time. They left 20 minutes late. Of course didn't pay for the extra people. But they slept on the mattress cover, no sheets... but of course no sheets! No unsanitary... yech! The amount of alcohol in that room.
I also had a discussion with the third party they books through and had they marked as DNB. If they are smart they will warn other innkeepers along with the reservations... but not likely. No one seem to like to take responsibility for anything anymore.
Do I change the policy sheet in the rooms?

- Passive aggressive?
- Unregistered guests are $1000 per person.
- Legal threat?
- Unregistered guests are squatters and the police will be called. No warnings will be given.
- To the Point?
- For our security, no unregistered outside guests.

There is an innkeeper in our region, fortunately not very close to us, that calls them trespassers. Will not even let them meet up during the day for a few minutes. She runs and screams after them "YOU'RE TRESPASSING" and threatens to call the police.I had to go up there at 10PM and tell them that they needed to quiet down. You know for a measly $30 they could have had a clear conscious, had the bed made with clean linen, had towels and even had breakfast. Instead they had to run like cockroaches in the night. Is "room packer" added to the official list of innkeeper terms?
I had one of these the other day too. They paid for 2 in the room, but when I went in to clean after they left, I found the mattress cover from the sofa bed wadded up in the corner. When I opened the sofa, the mattress was covered in popcorn!
They obviously had a 3rd and maybe 4th person spend the night, slept on the mattress cover and probably used extra pillows from the bed (I have 4 on the bed) and there's an extra blanket in the closet they probably used in place of a top sheet.
It was a one night stay and 6 bath towels used, plus 4 hand towels, 4 washcloths, and they took everything I put out in the way of soaps, lotions, vanity kit, etc. Plus left the blackest bathtub ring I've ever seen.
Oh well, I did charge a big $15 surcharge for it being a one-night stay, so I shouldn't complain. I'm getting rich here.
When they do this a) I don't get paid unless I want to bill them after the fact and make them mad and b) I feel like I need to wash the blanket even though it's folded back up in the closet so I'm not sure it was used.
Grrrr..
I don't mind if someone drops in to see the guests and they have a glass of wine on their way out to dinner. But, then they leave their car(s) here.
If someone stayed over they were guests and there is a charge.
We even offered a second room (for free!) to our grandpa-on-the-floor but he turned us down. When I heard him telling other guests he slept on the floor I went right over and said, 'We offered you another room.' Did not want the other guests thinking we made him sleep on the floor!
We've had it happen that people we did not know about stayed here. It's a pain..
Those are the ones you want to throttle. They make it sound as if you are mercenary and heartless when you have bent over backward and grabbed your ankles to say goodbye to any possible profit. And then they have the gall to be a "victim" to people who are paying what they themselves refused to pay or even take for free. Thankfully you were there to correct the situation - but how many times have we NOT been there to correct the twisted stories. Even worse how many of our acts of kindness have come back to bite us because someone bragged how they got away with something and another person expects us to do it for them. And then there are the Psychos who do not know a mountain when they see one (unless it is an Alp).Madeleine said:I don't mind if someone drops in to see the guests and they have a glass of wine on their way out to dinner. It's a better story the way they did it. Arks, I can sense the sarcasm, but $15???? We don't do one-night stays, but if we did, we would charge a lot more than $15 for a surcharge!Arks said:Oh well, I did charge a big $15 surcharge for it being a one-night stay, so I shouldn't complain. I'm getting rich here.
