We used to have a sandwich maker. Seriously one piece of kitchen equip I could never see the purpose in. Just put a little butter in the pan and away you go. BUT, my daughter loved the sandwich maker! She made sandwiches all the time. She lugged it to college. She lugged it home. It bounced around from here to there until it broke. She was bereft! And we couldn't find another one like it.No I don't think GF will work at least I know ours wouldn't do a panini. I think this is one appliance I don't need and don't have space for. The ones I have seen only hold 2 sandwiches. We have an old waffle iron which has replacable grill units on it and it would work fine as a press. It never even occured to me to use it. We don't do them..
Looks yum!I just got a panini grill today. http://pinterest.com/pin/144255994287639296/.

The sandwiches are beautiful but my attention went straight to the champagne grapes. Where do you find them? Do you grow your own? I'd have to drive into DC to find those. No one ate the champagne grapes. No one ate the kiwi. No one ate the melon..

They had them at Kroger yesterday. I never know when they will make a showing, but they were there! No strawberries to be found, but giant "Kandy Melon" which is yellow on outside and pink flesh, as well. Another great find.tedwin said:The sandwiches are beautiful but my attention went straight to the champagne grapes. Where do you find them? Do you grow your own? They've had them at the Costco in Winchester and Frederick but I can never tell when they're going to be there. My experience is similar to Joey's - usually they go uneaten but I have had at least one guest rave about them.tedwin said:The sandwiches are beautiful but my attention went straight to the champagne grapes.
