Just saw someone on fb using a leaf blower to get the snow off the car.Believe it or not, was wondering whether a smallish leaf blower would be good for a major dusting. Windows open of course... Haven't tried it .
Don't do it. It will leave a layer of dust on everything, including your beds.Believe it or not, was wondering whether a smallish leaf blower would be good for a major dusting. Windows open of course... Haven't tried it .
Well, as I told someone (who shall remain nameless) the new Platinum Dawn with enzymes actually work to remove residue from spray oil on frying pans.
Rain-X on glass showers (repeat once a month). Don't use soap bars (non glycerine) with glass, they leave soap scum.
Ammonia fumes to clean the oven. Put a small container of ammonia in the oven overnight to cut the grease. Works on the silver rings around the stove heating elements too.
Coloured Polyurethane in a shade lighter can be brushed on to wood with the same finish to "brighten" the wood.
Goof-Off on a cloth can be used to remove marks on wood and oil based paints, if you use it carefully (don't use on latex, it may strip it.).
I bought the Datinum Plawn today too. (oh was that Blonds have more fun platinum?) I am going to give it a shot for sure!Jon Sable said:Well, as I told someone (who shall remain nameless) the new Platinum Dawn with enzymes actually work to remove residue from spray oil on frying pans.

Yes, don't leave it until the Spring.
Ours is well under way, I shampooed the carpet in the breakfast room today, took all the furniture out, not just the visible bits. That was the last room, whole house is done.
We painted the kitchen this week and gave that a deep clean, DH has been doing the same in the utility room today.
Need to reprint all my guest information next, I re-do all of it each year..
Hint: Print the name of the file on the room information (footer or somewhere) - and save with the date in it. So you can go back easily and get "guest room info-Jan 2014" and update and reprint. I know this is basic, but some of us never learn and spend time spinning our wheels to locate file names etc. And we forget to delete the old ones. If you amend it add a B, or (2) at the end of the file name.Highlands John said:Need to reprint all my guest information next, I re-do all of it each year.

Not sure it would work well indoors. Plus the noise!

Use a leaf blower and smell like fuel. I would not want that inside, it would be really strong.Morticia said:Just saw someone on fb using a leaf blower to get the snow off the car.

Mine is electric. In fact, it's a workshop vacuum that has a detachable top that becomes and electric leaf blower. Here's a new-ish option - print a (oh what the hell are they called???) one of those square code thingys in the guest room books that takes the guest to your website to what's probably a more up to date bit of info. What the hell are those square code thingys called? Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most.

You know you can insert a field into the document footer that is the file name and location, that way even if you move documents around on your computer it will still print with the correct location.Joey Bloggs said:Hint: Print the name of the file on the room information (footer or somewhere) - and save with the date in it.
