Trivago called today about my listing on their site. Since I already advertise on Expedia & they own Trivago, my prices and availability automatically flow to their website. The rep stated that Trivago has a program that will provide a link on my listing encouraging guests to book directly with us vs. the OTAs, which is a little weird because they're owned by an OTA. Well, the catch is that I'd have to pay $220 a year for this promotion.
Does anyone currently pay for their Trivago listing? I have a hard time believing that it would be worth it because they're not a big name in the business, no matter how friendly and soothing that older hipster dude is in their commercials.
