    Original family visits

You are very gracious. It didn't occur to me to not charge them. The past is so impressive and interesting to us and we definitely appreciate the pictures and stories of the people who were real and lived here. I'm glad other innkeepers have had relatives visit and I thank you for sharing...

    Original family visits

I did not cook their dinner but I do have "treats" (cookies, pie, ice cream, etc.) for evening discussions. I'm sorry about the "reunion" loss but hopefully you were able to recover. And Mr. Figurehead keeps me in check as to handouts. We'd never make any money if I didn't listen to him!

    Original family visits

It feels like a link or connection has been added to the chain of history and that a real person actually walked here, talked here, worked here, etc. And it is lovely.

    Original family visits

They may be back next year and I like the idea of written memories. Maybe I should start a separate book for just that. Thank you for the idea!

    Original family visits

We just experienced two wonderful sisters, the granddaughters of the original owners and builders of our home. Their dad was born and grew up here and their family was very involved in the growth and industry of this little village. They brought us old pictures and told of stories they...

Wondering about Innmates who've moved on...

Thank you, Camge, and I will look for some next time shopping. She will be here for four nights so I am looking for a variety of ideas.

Wondering about Innmates who've moved on...

I haven't moved on but have been lurking still. I usually don't have much to say as we just have two rooms and this is going into our second year. We have just enough guests and so far been impressed with all of them. I love that they bring the world to me for I am not a traveler. This...

    Innmates are a Blessing

I am so sorry about this sad news. "Lean on the Everlasting Arms" and know so many are praying and caring about you. Wish we were closer.

    North East Storm

Northern New York here with 12-14 inches of beautiful snow. The first real storm this entire season. Mr. Figurehead is clearing the vehicles (second time) and the edges where our plowman doesn't get clean enough. It is a lovely landscape out there!

    My Turn

I'm so sorry about your loss and so encouraged by your strength and devotion to your brother's family and the needs they have now. I agree with emptynest that you also take time to grieve for your sorrow. May God surround you with His comfort and love as you walk through these next days.

    Happy Couple!

Romantic house and story! I was thinking recently about the vacant house next to us and wondering what kind of people and stories lived there. So glad someone told their story about your inn and it's innfluence in their lives. Thanks for sharing, Duff.
