UGH!! why do people think it's OK to show up at 5h early???

hahaha I'll keep that excuse in mind if they bring up the ranting. Another thing I thought of is, they didn't see WHO was doing the ranting - I could conceivably blame some other nonexistent "housekeeper" or something. tee hee!

    Complaints From Travellers

This reminds me of a poor TA review a neighbouring B&B received around here.... "had a great time, nice room, hosts etc -- but was unhappy because it snowed while we were there so it was difficult to drive to the house." I felt pretty bad for the owners.

I'd love that but we have a big house with windows all along the porch -- ie. once you're here, you're looking at me through the window. Hard to ignore

Thanks Jon. :) Husbands says it's very unlikely I was heard, as I was in the ranting in the pantry and guest showed up in the other room. Guest is older, hopefully has some level of hearing loss..... hahaha... sigh.

This is a rant. Husband and I are running around in sweatpants, music on, cleaning, mopping, putting away groceries (no guests last night, did a trip to town to pick up supplies) -- when suddenly tonight's guests show up at 10AM (they emailed 2 days ago to say they wouldn't be here til after 4...

They Made Me Cry (A Bit Long)

That really sucks that you had such a hard 2 days, but it paid off nicely with a fat tip! Really glad they recognized all the extra hard work you were putting in. You will definitely get some nice word of mouth or online reviews out of it -- they seem like the type of people that like to run...

    Mailing Fee

We contact the guest, if they want it sent back then we mail it COD (collect on delivery). We pay for it to be delivered, and they have to reimburse the postman who forwards the amount back to us. Works pretty well. Just annoying having to go wait in line at the post office to do it.

My biggest nightmare has happened... bed bugs!!!!

That sounds awfully stressful... Not your fault though, everyone knows that even the fanciest places can get bedbugs if one guest brings them in. Good luck getting rid of every last one!

    Bacon and husbands

In other news, I caught Hubby eating uneaten bacon from guest's plates after clearing the table. How long has THAT been going on, I wonder?

    Bananas!

Seriously, when I ask you if you have any dietary restrictions, just tell me them. This guy says that he doesn't eat meat or eggs -ok no problem! Next day, he's standing at the kitchen bar counter watching me prepare his breakfast and I'm chopping fruit and stirring pots and chatting nicely with...

I dont like washing up dishes !!

OMG. What is with people? We had a group use a bunch of dishes for their picnic dinner, so I left a neatly folded tea towel, washing cloth, and dish soap laid out next to the sink. I heard a bunch of clanging around and came down to find them trying to start up the industrial-strength...

    Tipping again

The ones who do pay us back in tips and great reviews make it worth the risk of wasted time, I suppose! Ha ha. The ones who don't, well -- they're just clucked at after they leave! The beer guy though -- come on. I gave you beer.

    Tipping again

I honestly did not think that it is customary to tip at B&Bs... or hotels, etc. It IS customary to tip a server at a restaurant, and if you don't for any reason other than terrible service, that makes you uncouth. However, not tipping at a B&B isn't really on the same level -- or so I thought...
