Well, it appears that I have lost the first housekeeper of the year and tomorrow the new one starts. The first one called in "sick" on Thursday, saying child was in hospital. Called agency on Friday saying she still can't make it. Agency called me to try a new person on Saturday, so she's starting tomorrow because she can't work Monday (she's going to see if she can move her Monday to Wednesday, which is the day that I don't need someone). So, I have to retrain a bit. I struggled badly last Friday to the tune of taking the wrong pills to hide the pain. But I took it easy today and just cleaned 3 of the rooms and did 5 or 6 loads of laundry. Which I'm still not finished. But at least I have someone for the rest of the week.
Now I have to teach how to fold a towel again.
How to make a bed to my specifications again. (First day versus second day)
How to fold (fitted) sheets for the cupboard again.
Well, at least they already know how to clean, so I don't have to teach them to do that part. And I was so much happier with this housekeeper than I was with last years. I hope the new one is as good... at least she has a good sense of humour, which helps when you have to work with ME!
