    Shade garden suggestions?

Coleus are an annual that come in a variety of colors and love the shade. I'm partial to the ones with the purple leaves with a hot pink center, they just pop against a background of darker green plants.

Generations Of Goodwill - INN the news 03.22.09

Well, this owner decided not to sell after all so I won't be looking at it. Strange deal - waited until listing agent called her to book a showing (which speaks volumes about how much it hasn't been shown) to tell her to take it off the market. So I'll be looking at two places tomorrow, not three.

The two year rule still applies to 1031 asset transfers, which means you can defer capital gains on a business property by purchasing another business property. The two year rule in this case states that you must have used the property as a business for at least two years prior to selling it...

    Scent diffusers

I use reed diffusers extensively in my large home. I have one in the kitchen, entry hall, and in each upstairs bathroom. I use an English lavendar oil and the scent is clean and fresh but not overpowering. I like them because they give continuous scent without using a flame or electricity.

Generations Of Goodwill - INN the news 03.22.09

The one with good sales and bad TA has a dumb name that says nothing about the area or property so I'd change it in a heartbeat! Change the horrific decor and start fresh. It seems to have great "bones". Has a big stand alone building with a kitchen, and 3 suites. All 3 suites have their own...

Generations Of Goodwill - INN the news 03.22.09

I'm so glad to see this topic! I'm running into a similar situation with several properties I'm interested in. One has had a tremendous drop in revenue over the past 2 years, probably because they have a conference/retreat/wedding center that they're not booking...another is showing a steady...

Hot Sheets! Alexander Basek asks: Who should be greener, hotels or their guests?

I'm baaack! Honestly, it's SUCH a drag to take linens along! We rented two cabins because my mother and granddaughter went with me and my daughter and SIL took their three "new" boys. So I had to scrounge up 4 queen sets and two twins, comforters, enough pillows to go around, and towels and...

Hot Sheets! Alexander Basek asks: Who should be greener, hotels or their guests?

Actually, they are open next week for Spring Break but not now. This confirms what I suspected - they aren't living in the house and only open the property on school holidays and during the summer. This contradicts what their website states. I suspect that one or both of them are school...

Hot Sheets! Alexander Basek asks: Who should be greener, hotels or their guests?

That I can understand. But bringing everything? I've stayed in LOTS of cabin rentals in Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado but never found this policy before. It seems to be specific to this region of Texas only, which is why I'm wondering if it has to do with water usage. All of these...

    Exhausted

It seems to me that you guys could build quite a "time share" agreement among yourselves. Unless it turns out like my vacations when I had the store - I'd go to little shopping towns and network or seek out new inventory, come home feeling like I'd worked all week.

Hot Sheets! Alexander Basek asks: Who should be greener, hotels or their guests?

Interesting...I'm heading out of town to take another look at B&B/cabin properties and when I booked my room (at another place because the one I'm interested in isn't open for Spring Break...not good) I found that very few of the cabins provide linens of any kind. This is a MAJOR inconvenience...

Pretend you are a business guest...

I agree - if there's coffee in the room I'll have two cups before I go down for breakfast, then another at the table.

Pretend you are a business guest...

I seldom sit at a desk in a room because I'm not writing reports or anything while on the road, just keeping up with email, the bank, mapping. You might be able to find small round dining tables and chairs instead of desks. A 36" round doesn't take up much space. Travelers don't really need...

Pretend you are a business guest...

I do travel on business and the list is spot on. I'd never dream of sharing a bath. I do need coffee early - good, strong coffee with real creamer. I need DSL, preferably wireless, and don't care how charming your place is, I'll stay down the road with internet. Early breakfast is a must and...
