Tripadvisor business listings. Have you canceled or do you plan to cancel? Info needed please

Just wondering if anybody has renewed there TA business listing recently. We were quoted an amount almost double our previous year. Which without asking was reduced by 15%, I said it was too much and another 5% was reduced from the price. In their minds I'm getting 20% off, in my mind I'm paying...

Kids - Can you really not allow them...?

We live in Spain, so rules are slim. When we first opened we had a policy of no under 12 year olds due to us living on a working winery (a few tractors around the place). It soon became clear that our target market was young couples without kids touring our region, so we upped the age limit to...

    Pros and Cons of Booking.com

Over here in Spain we get lots of visitors from other european countries Belgium, France, Germany, Norway, Sweden, UK you name it, I think in our first year we had a guest from nearly every country in the world (give or take). Another pro to boo.ing there website translates into every language...

    Mid winter slump

Totally agree with BeachHouse. We've just had a week in our house- Netflix, Movies and Internet catch up. We are now having a long weekend away and I have to say that I am now ready to get back into the projects. :-)

How to get movies in rooms

We have 4 GB of unlimited internet comming into the house which we think is enough to stream TV but not enough for 5 rooms. Therefore we have one room with a smart TV, (and obviously we stream TV also! but i don't think it is enough to have a smart TV in each room.

How to get movies in rooms

Ok, so we have a tv in each room (sattelite which is really only good for news in several languages) but I would like to make a movie library available. Obviously there is an option to put a DVD player in each room with a DVD library in the hall but that seems a little out dated now (sorry, i do...

    Waiting for checkins

Amen, we did the same. Changed our check-in from 7 to 5.30. The stradlers are still there but it is nowhere near as bad.

Do you hang a sign when you've turned in for the night?

We put our skype phone out and a small blackboard which says 'for assisstance please call this number'. It worked a charm last week as at breakfast a guy said "i tried calling you last night at 11.30 to tell you the internet had stopped working, but the phone was not work". Tooshay, some things...

Do You Have Something Annoying That Guests Do That Drives You CrAzY Each Time They Do It?

Guests who turn up saying that they couldn't find our location and they have asked everybody in town and nobody has heard of us. Hello, we are a small bed and breakfast set on the outskirts of quite a large town. When we send our confirmation emails we recommend they look on our website for...

    Owner responses to reviews

We opened in April and have used b.com ever since and they have provided us with about 70% of our reservations. We are able to reply to guests comments here in Spain. For all the money in the world I cannot use their extranet, but we do everything using our reservation manager whose software is...

    This was a big help

These companys are great. We lived in the uk for 4 months last year and used a similar company called gousto dot co.uk all fresh ingredients, simple menu cards to follow, loved it. Wish we could find one in Spain, although thankfully the majority of the food is fresh and local out here anyway.

Bookings directly through Trip Advisor coming soon

I might be reading this article wrong, but I am reading it that you will be able to book directly through trip connect and it is a new feature by trip connect coming later this year. We have been with trip connect since we opened in April and I think it has helped us get a lot of bookings...

    Innspiration for Innkeepers this August

We opened our B&B on a small vineyard in Spain. Always liked drinking wines but never really understood what affects the characteristics of the wine. We started doing tours and I now pass on the basics of wine preparation to the guests, and am loving every minute of it. Everyday I learn...

Why does it seem preferential to have keyless entry pads? What are the advantages/ disadvantages to both? Does anybody use them?
