I am an admitted numbnutz on this stuff. I thought it may make sense to you gurus who know what you are doing. I figured it is like most everything else on the Internet - someone's opinion or it worked for someone.OK, tested this out today even tho my experience shows this chart isn't necessarily true.
So, how'd it work out? Email newsletter opens plummeted. By 50%. Generally on the day I send the email most of the people who are going to open it do so by 6 PM. I never find Friday to be a good day, too many people use work emails and they're already gone. I sent it at the same time I usually send it, just changed the day of the week.
So, it may depend on who is sending the email what day is the best day for opens.
I should add, tho, that I did get 2 future reservations this afternoon from guests who DID open the email..

The chart in the article is about clicks on web ads. I don't guess it translates to behavior with e-mailed newsletters.Madeleine said:my experience shows this chart isn't necessarily true...Email newsletter opens plummeted.
Ah, missed that part. Must have gone into it thinking it was about email and never paid attention.OK, tested this out today even tho my experience shows this chart isn't necessarily true.

Wonder why more people click web ads on Fridays, and on their lunch hour. Perhaps something to do with making weekend plans.

Just looked at my PPC through GA and for the last 2 months the largest # of click thrus are on Mondays between 11a & 2p. Sundays are next and primarily in the late afternoon to evening..
Mondays. Strange. I know the airlines charge more for tickets booked on weekends because that's when people have time to search and book flights. Tickets are always cheaper during daytime, mid-week. I NEVER buy tickets on weekends.copperhead said:Just looked at my PPC through GA and for the last 2 months the largest # of click thrus are on Mondays between 11a & 2p. But most of my bookings are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Search on Monday at work, discuss with other half Monday night then book on Tuesday or think on it a couple nights more and book Thursday. That is my theory.Arkansawyer said:Mondays. Strange. I know the airlines charge more for tickets booked on weekends because that's when people have time to search and book flights. Traffic sources; advertising, then AdWords

Sorry, I just realized that was PayPerClick. I thought I had found something in GA that allowed me to look at stats by day of week/hour. I can't find it for something that's not an ad.copperhead said:Not on GA right now - well let me go look:
