Yikes. In researching the 'fees' associated with the b&b we are looking at in PAC NW....
Total B&O 739.7 (for one year, its higher if income is higher)
lodging tax 4%
Here’s a list of needed licenses & permits:
Master Business License ($40/one-time fee)
Transient Accommodation License ($164/yr)
Corporate License ($20/yr)
Food Service Operation Permit & kitchen inspection ($160/yr)
Food Worker Card for each food handler ($10 every two years)
Annual septic inspection ($285/yr)
Annual inspection ($30/yr)
AND the kicker... we want to offer weddings, conference space, reunions, meeting space, anniversary celebrations etc.... so we need a "Conditional Use Permit" to the tune of $1125. with an additional fee of $250!
AND these are all for out in the county. Inside city limits its actually higher!
Seriously??? I thought Govt was trying to encourage 'small business'!!!
