Extra space in the bathroom

Take a look at this and tell me whether or not you think a guest will knock this down at least once/stay. Or not. If screwed into the wall, will the guest end up bloody and bruised?

What I would worry about most would be things falling into the toilet, some of my guests bring the entire cosmetic dept. with them. But it is very nice. I like it for my bathroom!

I envision the shelf being right where my neck would be, bumped into as the search took place for "where is the TP", and since I am a TOTAL Klutz knocking it and everything on it to the floor. Do you have grab bars so the guest will not try to use the shelf as an aid?

OK, I have seen guests nearly take a whole dining table full of breakfast out, but you'd have to be double jointed to try to use this to haul up off the seat! Which, of course, is why I thought attaching it to the wall might help! But the neck thing occured to me as well.
No grab bars. And that is probably why a friend ended up with the TP holder TORN off the wall. Thanks. I'll tell her that one. She can install a grab bar. I know, totally off the original topic!

as long as it's high enough, shallow enough (so they don't have to sit between the legs) and mounted to the wall, it's pretty! it sure is a lot more appealing than piling stuff on the toilet tank i see here in the teenytiny bathrooms!

If it's the depth of the top of the toilet tank, it shouldn't be a problem for guests. Like SS said, it's a lot better than putting stuff on the toilet tank lid if there isn't another shelf in the bathroom. There are also things which are a bit larger like these.

Nice, but too overwhelming for the rooms. I wanted one of those for my bathroom but the window is too close. I ended up getting a 'jelly cupboard' or 'pie safe' style cabinet for the towels. But I have a little bit of floor space in my bathroom that the guest baths don't have.

My take on the original item shown is that it is a shelf (no drawers or other storage) so it might as well be a shelf rather than a table. As a table it has 4 feet occupying space on the floor that gives 4 more things to clean around in an area that already requires too much attention in order to get rid of stray hair and other stuff. In my own bathroom it might not be a problem, but in a bathroom I am cleaning every couple of days, it would probably drive me crazy. Putting in a shelf would allow you more control over the height and the depth.
Even for the ones that Samster linked to, they are a shelf and a small cabinet. A hanging cabinet would serve the same purpose without having to clean around the feet.

good point about the feet and cleaning around them.
lots of my walls can't support a shelf. I could anchor legs but a shelf would probably get leaned on and would come out of the wall. just like we have some of those old sinks mounted on the wall and underneath are the pipes. guests lean on the littlest things and we are always trying to come up with ways of adding support. i have no idea what is IN some of these walls. some are solid, some seem like empty space covered by cardboard (well, almost)

Naah, Bree, I wouldn't order this. It looks a bit flimsy. A big job to bolt it into walls to make it look nice.
Can you fit a little, strong, sturdy table in there? Just look around, and you will find it. Whatever the color you are looking for, if you find it, you can prime it (spray primer in a can -- so easy), and then spray paint any color you want.

Yeah, I guess that's why I gave her the link the the other ones that they call bathroom etageres that at least have more storage if you have to clean around the legs ;-) Trying to help her to have more room for guests to put their things in her bathrooms.

Good point about the feet. Dead giveaway that I don't clean the bathrooms, isn't it?
