Goodbye Twitter!

Ok, so I open my email this morning and find a message saying XXXX is now following me on twitter. I go to my twitter page and find this stranger and a pornograhic message!!! I am not having any of this!!! If one weirdo has done this...how many more to follow??? I have deleted my useless TWITTER account...so if any of you were following me....I am now gone! And will not be signing back up. I never saw the point to it and have no use for it.

I had a friend request on facebook that was the same name as a recent guest so said OK. First thing that pops up is the F-word. Not on my page. I pulled that immediately. I looked until I found the way to do it. His posts no longer show on my page (it was a young grandson who apparently thinks language like that is OK).

Those porn followers disappear very quickly (usually). I had one day where my account was getting hit hourly with those. Usually, if I don't get the email saying who is following me I will check my account and block anything that looks suspicious or overtly pushy in selling things.

That may be the case, but to me Twitter is useless and I have no reason to continue its use or non use.

The porn ones have figured out how to follow you without a message being sent that you have a new follower. You do have to keep an eye out and do a little housekeeping on your followers every once in a while. But - if you don't follow them back, their x-rated tweets don't show up in your timeline. I still don't tweet as much as I should - I don't want to tweet my breakfast/horoscope/daily quote just to hit the once a day mark. I figure I will find my own level as I work through it.

Yes, that just started. I've also noticed they'll do a few nondescript tweets before they start sending out the xxx links, in case you check right away.

I get a lot of porn followers too but if you don't follow them back they drop off and leave usually. I sometimes just deleted them manually.

Well, I haven't had time to begin even considering Twitter, but this sets it for me that I never will. I do like Facebook a lot, though.

I set up a Twitter account, but for the life of me have nothing to say. It's a waste of time as far as I'm concerned.

I never found the use for Twitter. It's completely pointless to me.
I use Facebook exclusively.

The Outdoors Show guy gave a good use of Twitter Saturday on his program. During fishing torunaments they (the other person in the boat - he is the PRESS) Twitter when the contestant catches a fish and the approx weight which gives "live" reporting when the tournament is being broadcast.

Speaking of social networking. This individual who invited me to join their LinkedIn group who I don't know and refused to answer when I asked who they were; has now sent me a second invitation. What is the point? It just seems like all of these sites are being abused nowdays.
