Empty Nest! Where have you been with your sage advice??? That is our biggest grumble, folks who stay way over the allotted check out time! Today's guest was an HOUR LATE for their baked egg dish, and they still have a ROOM FULL of food, coolers, etc. to take to their car, with only 4 minutes left!

Probably one of my biggest peeves. But, we now have it on the signed check-in sheet that it is $50/hour past 11. At 1 PM we charge a full night. On top of the $100.
But, no one reads so I still have to go to the door, knock and remind them they are on the clock. It really gets the hustle on.
Alternately, you can just knock and ask if they need help with their bags.

Madeline, so at 11:05 they owe you an extra $50? Happen often? Get bad ratings because of it? I guess I always try to be everyone's friend and not have any hurt feelings. But then again, THEY are the ones creating the situation. Thanks for the alternative. Maybe I will have to start signed check in sheets.
Empty Nest, I guess I "assume," they know when check out time is, since they agreed to it when the booked the room online. But then again, they tend to be clueless about how to pay, even though it is stated on their reservation as well as them not making use of a map URL of our neighborhood! GRR!!!
