Pantyhose...LOL...I use them to strain varnish. And they are getting very difficult to find because nobody wears them anymore. I used to get them from friends after they got a run in them, but after moving down here...nobody wears them in Miami. I hated them when I lived up north, and I was one of those who would not wear them, not even in the winter. Now, I don't even have to think about it.

DH and I always like a room with hooks for our toiletry bags. So we made sure we had that for our rooms. Also have a hook behind the door for jammies and/or robes. (I travel light so wash out my undies every other night and need a place to hang them to dry overnight.)

Just to clarify she meant in a getting changed so your husband wouldn't see you in the nude victorian style (ie not hanging up things washed) If they were friends rather than husband and wife perhaps I could understand but surley he has seen it all before?.

do people actually do this? I don't and never have but have just had a review of there was no where in the bathroom to hang clothes so was wondering is this something people do? and on such a large scale I should plan for it?
When we used to travel with my parents my mother used to pack a liquid soap and rinse out stockings and underwear and hang them up in the bathroom to dry. This was in the 70s and 80s. Maybe there are laundomats everywhere these days but I still do that with pantyhose when traveling myself.
Another reason I sometimes hang clothes in the bathroom is if they have wrinkles the steam from the shower can shake them out.
RIki.
PANTYHOSE!!! What are they? I hear they are now making a comeback because of Kate Middleton.

I have always worn them when it is not so hot. RIght now I'm in flipflops. But I cannot wear shoes bare. My feet sweat and it makes my shoes stink. I can't see how others can wear heels and no hose!

Changed my post after reading all the replies...oops.
We have multiple hooks in all the bathrooms. Also, extra hooks in the bedrooms of the rooms in the second house that have smaller closets.
I personally like to hang PJs or whatever on a hook in the bathroom when showering.
About the slips...most skirts now are either lined or have "slips" sewn in, which is why I think the slips are going away.

Maybe in suits but not in any of my summer dresses or skirts....I must wear much more casual clothing!

I know I am out of the loop here, but when the weather hits 10 below, pantyhose come in handy for wearing dresses & skirts! All of those crazy women out there with bare legs in the winter are going to end up with arthritic knees!
.
It just amazed me watching some of the TV show and especially what not to wear...no one wears pantyhose any more it seems. I know I haven't worn any since I retired...really

I find them in the second hand stores around here. I have gotten 3 or 4 in either Goodwill or Salvation Army stores.
That's where I get most of my clothes anyway. Love those stores. My dd thinks she's died and gone to heaven when we go into the Goodwill store in the bigger town over. I can get her an entire season full of clothes for $20! Win-win!
.
I wish I could go into Goodwill or SA. The smoke smell knocks me right back out the door again. Unfortunately, a lot of stuff in there spent its formative years in a smoking household and it is still reeking.

His and hers or at least his time and her time. I've always dressed/undressed in the bathroom. Alone.

I noticed that all the new Summer sundresses and skirts when I was looking in July before our cruise had the sewn in slips. I bought 2 casual Summer skirts that had slips sewn in. hmmmm......

Its the one thing i miss from where we lived before we took on the Camberley his and hers bathrooms it was fab! maybe if we were designing an amazing luxuary B&B from scratch we could design the rooms with 2 bathrooms!

I like hooks as well and love the over the door ones if you dont close a door, had them in the B & B this one does not have any-weird-hose? Please its something i don't wear specially here in the delta, may wear them in NJ but the only time i really wear a dress or skirt is to church anymore or a special occasion.
It seems like Europeans hang their intimates after traveling for so long, i remember a couple from the Netherlands or Germany that wanted to change rooms or maybe i went to fluff the rooms and all their stuff was hanging in the bathroom-thank goodness for hooks, i like to hang my pj's or robe or even a towel from them.
And i agree about slips, i see them seldomly maybe Wallie world, but most sheer skirts have them sewn in i have a couple white ones like that..no slips and no ironing thats awsome for hot and warm weather
