Was in the Guardian, so everyone has read it by now. Terrific for the rest of the hoteliers who don't run Bates Motels.

Ok, this is pretty horrific, but what's also disturbing is that the one who caught on was a 16 year old female with her boyfriend? And they were too drunk to drive to another location? Holy Cow! What kind of a place was this????

In the UK B&B's are used as halfway houses. Not sure if that was one or not, they are also in holiday locations, and the rooms can be rented by adults as well for the teens, this is nothing new. You are far removed from the youth of today and yesterday. Just about any HOTEL will rent a room to underage if they pay for it.

Drinking age is 18 so they shouldn't have been drunk but its not that uncommon. It is a busy holiday location but if they appear to be a bit young I ask for ID as was nearly caught out once in a big hotel. Two girls came to book a room as they were comming to a local ball with their boyfriends. These are sort of high school graduation balls so have to be 18. So took the booking mother came buy later with girls in tow and made them appologise as they were only 15 and there was "no ruddy way!" they were going and then spending the night with the boyfriends in a hotel! thought at least she was on the ball. But a lot of them do it (ie make a night of it)

I am amazed at how many of them try, tho! Or, their parents will reserve for them. We go thru this every year at prom time.
