Pretty, pretty, pretty!
I forgot to mention the other day during my rant on CA, it was checking in some very nice folks from Lansing who turned that day around. I think innkeeping would be easier on me if more of my guests were from there

Another B&B in our vicinity that's for sale for less than $300k. I see it listed as a residence, but no listing of the B&B business as being for sale. In a great location just outside Traverse City and a couple of miles from the Turtle Creek Casino complex.
Never had a website, been in business for years and years...they must be retiring. While the business aspect of it is not worth much, it's a big place with a porch, a pond and lots of room.....Penelope,,,,even big enough for you! :) If the furnishings could be included, one would only need to open their own place with a website and a mission!

Interesting....Looks like it could use a little love though. (love = $$) Maybe I'll drive by it when I'm up at TC this weekend...

My understanding (gleaned from UP innkeepers who stayed with us 2 years ago) is that everything essentially closes down after Labor Day...is there really possibility for true year round business there?

Snowmobiling is HUGE up there in the winter, and I mean people come from all over the country for it. Snowshoeing and cross country also huge. The place in question happens to be very near to the Porcupine Mountains, where snowsports are tremendously popular.

It looks beautiful...hard news for those trying to sell their profitable inns though when things like this are available for next to nothing

I've emailed the realtor and haven't heard back from them. The snowmobiling part really interests me along with the summer guests.

Well, that's a bad sign right there. IF they don't respond immediately to a request, wonder what kind of realtor they are??? Wonder if the innkeepers know that they aren't giving good response time??? Hmmmmm

I suppose I was slightly misleading on my comment. I emailed them later last night (around 9 pm). I was going to give them until Tuesday morning without a second thought.

What do the tax records say the place is worth? Something in that price range could be in a very seedy area. I would investigate all that, hopefully they get back to you. A double wide costs more than that, so I would be very leery of that price.

Bob, I know this isn't you - you have one "D" but saw your post then saw this news about Robert Sledd: Wait DH just said there is no such person as "bobsled"...
McDonnell makes Sledd an unpaid senior advisor
(PS this is not a political commentary at all, just saw the same name as our new Guv took office Sat officially)

I have to say: I really don't like the lack of good info on that website. I can't even find out what town that B&B is in. It's kind of frustrating.
.
Bob, LB posted some info on where this inn is located earlier in this thread. Check it out.
No doubt the bad website had something to do with the B&Bs inability to hold its own. But that just means there's a lot of room for improvement and, potentially increased revenue, for the next owner.
