From the MI L2L newsletter:
"Jacuzzi suites command a higher price, which guests continue to be willing to pay, even though most don't use the tubs. One inn cut down on unnecessary cleaning time with the help of some rubber ducks. The cleaning crew was trained to place Mama and baby ducks in a precise formation and location in the bottom of each whirlpool tub. If the ducks moved, the tub got cleaned".

The jetted tub in the Cottage is also a shower(swedish metal hose type with a adjustable water head).Shower curtain rod was made a local artist. In other words the tub there has to be cleaned all the time but the shower head makes it easier.Duck idea is great for a standard jetted tub that has a seperate shower. As we all know people want to be offered tons of amenities but will use only a few, which is fine with me.Happy guest return.Mary in Bridgewater.

Trust me, you can tell when our big giant tubs are used or not! But that is a cute trick!

This is an interesting idea. I think something like this would work on the spare blankets in the closet too.

You can use a little ribbon tied around the blankets, just so. Just remember to take them out and wash them anyway at least once/month least the next guest find them dusty or buggy!

Even if jacuzzi tubs have a shower which of course gets cleaned, bacteria can get into the jets so you need to fill the tub to the top of the jets, pour in chlorine or hydrogen peroxide and turn the jets on for a while.

How often would a person have to do this?
