Okay - There is a notion amongst the family that we may gather again this year. My niece has just had a baby who will be 4 month old come the end of August. She lives in Leesburg, VA. The usual goal is to find an outdoor activity that we can do together and a couple of nights where we can sit around a have a few sips of Scotland's finest. In this case, we might try to be in close enough proximity to Leesburg for them to join us during the day for a while.
It could range from 3 couples and a teen to five couples and a teen to six couples, one with a teen, one with two kids 8 and 12.
I have been to Morganstown for canoeing and like it, but it is too far away. I saw there is canoeing on the Shenandoah, near Luray, which is 1 1/2 hours.
Examples of other trips we have done- Asheville- one b&b, nice enough- Virginia Beach- vacation house on the beach- okay but way to expensive for what you get and what it was. Reminded me why we like to stay at inns and b&b's. We chose these because they were close to where my dad was who was in marginal health for traveling. Now, if we want to include our niece, it's Leesburg centric.
Love to have any suggestions
