This is our typical guest, except during the summer. They barely ever leave. Just had a couple stay with us for 3 nights. They never left...ordered our dinner and our picnic basket. Drives me nuts sometimes, but I figure it's their vacation away from all the city life.Madeleine said:...anything.
Guests don't seem to want to leave the house. Were gone for 30 minutes yesterday.
It's really not a problem if someone says to us they are not going out, don't bother about the room. It's why I ask what the plans for the day are. They were going out, lots to do, etc.oh, i am lazy! working three jobs, 6 days ( as if this is a hardship for any of YOU !) but if i was to check into one of your cozy places, you'd have to vacume around me or kick me out!! i know there's lots to see around but i sometimes just want to sleep late, read, sit on my butt, not answer the phone, not go online, do nothin'.

Then they sat. I hate to knock because I don't want them to feel rushed so we wait. Holding off going to do other things.
Finally we gave up, it was the same thing every day. One of us stayed behind in case they left. The other went and did the things that needed to be done.
The second part, maybe the part that got to me more, was the noise. They were up until midnight and then awake again at 6. Loud talking, banging the doors, etc. And me trying to sleep a few feet away.
.
This is the very reason we tell them we'll freshen their room until noon. I got so tired of waiting around and not being able to leave! It's so frustrating to wait and wait and not be able to get to the store, etc. before check-in time. Now, when 12:00 comes around, I'm outta here if I want! It's so liberating.Madeleine said:It's really not a problem if someone says to us they are not going out, don't bother about the room. It's why I ask what the plans for the day are. Yes. I'm going to put the tip cards back in the rooms with the time the cleaning is done. It's really not a problem if someone says to us they are not going out, don't bother about the room. Speaking of cleaning, this is the second weekend in a row we've had 'cleaners' staying with us. Both have commented on how well we keep the place up.
.
Today we walked in a room and the first thing that hit me was Cig smell. And the guest for that room had already rang the bell to let us know they were here.
Just ducky.
Luckily, it turned out they had dumped their butts in the trash and that's what I was smelling.
Open the windows. Good to go.
And doused with perfume. I sneezed all thru breakfast..

Remember the thread on Magic Zymes? It really does help to get rid of odors without the perfume smell.Today we walked in a room and the first thing that hit me was Cig smell. And the guest for that room had already rang the bell to let us know they were here.

I feel for you both. Hopefully you can afford to take some breaks so you do not totally burn out. Actually, I am giving myself the same advice. You know, this was our year to retire. Ahhhh, Maddie....work does not count as vacation. Just because you don't have guests doesn't mean you are a lady of leisure. I find that the few weeks leading up to vacation are the hardest because in my mind I am already away. But reality has a different idea!Countdown to vacation 15 days.I feel for you both. Ok, yes, I was 'off' for 6 weeks but I spent that painting. This is an actual go away vacation!

3000 miles. Someplace warm and someplace cool and damp. 2 kids. 2 different homes. And 1000 miles between them, so a leisurely drive from one to the other.Ahhhh, Maddie....work does not count as vacation. Just because you don't have guests doesn't mean you are a lady of leisure.
