Balance Rock is closed for the season and in season it is over $350/night. Not in my price range. And their reviews are all over the place.I would recommend the "Balance Rock Inn On The Ocean".

This is really a very nice inn with spectacular view. Have been there for a while. The staff is polite and helpful. Well, it's probably more expensive than a regular B&B might be, but it is worth it.
There are quite few good B&Bs in that area, you can find some more in the same directory:

Good luck in your search!.

I've been getting spam from them (recommended inns, not the B&B). They will "publish positive feedback from your guests along with unlimited information about your property." Hmmm...Balance Rock is closed for the season and in season it is over $350/night. Not in my price range. And their reviews are all over the place.I would recommend the "Balance Rock Inn On The Ocean".

It makes no difference. I like r-inns just because they have a comprehensive database and some travelers feedback gathered in every listing. So what? I also received ads emails from them.
You know, I'm a live person out here. And I'm just expressing my opinion. You may agree or may not - up to you. Let's better focus on the topicstarter's question. My previous post was related to it. Yours?

The Re comm ended Inns site is owned by Travelegia, which also owns bnbstar.com. While the bnbstar site enjoys a PR4 ranking, the reco mmend ed Inns site has a PR of ZERO, so you're not the only one not finding it online. We do a lot of what is fondly referred to as thread hijacking around here.I'm just guessing that Mr. Vortex is a shill for that recommended inns website. Not to keep dinging the inn you keep posting about but they are closed for the season and their reviews are not that good, especially given what they charge. If they charged $100/night they could get away with reviews like they have.
So, given you don't know anything that's open for when I'm traveling, your post didn't really help me, did it? Whereas the other poster pointed out that the website you were trying to refer me to was probably something you have a vested interest in and I should beware of what I found there.
At which point I went and looked (not clicked the link), I went and looked for the site. Dang near impossible to find even using the name. And how the heck could someone use that site when none of the sorting links work? Sort by price? Returns an error. Sort by location (pretty helpful for a big state like Maine)? Returns an error. With all of the inns listed willy nilly I gave up after looking at the first page. No guest is going to go thru 63 pages of inns with no sorting.
Can't use a site that doesn't work. Or one that is laid out in a way only the programmer knows how to find anything.
So, back to the question...anyone have any recommendations for a place to stay in BH?
.
i looked it up. nice place. but seems to be closed for the winter. We stayed at Cleftsone Manor years ago and loved it. It's been much improved upon too. I have no clue if they're closed for the season. It's near the ferry..
