My downtown guesthouse apartments each have a burglar alarm that I always have on if a guest isn't scheduled in there that night.
Anybody want to wager on how long it will be before I forget to turn the alarm off when a guest is coming in that night? Imagine walking in to a screaming keypad asking you to enter the code (a code you do not know) within 30 seconds or Barney Fife and Gomer Pile will be arriving with guns drawn.
It's already happened to my sister, who went in the other day to show some of her friends the new apartments. She didn't get the code in right and 4 police cars arrived within 1 minute (plus the outside siren going off). At least I know the system works and the police are prompt (the guesthouse is only 1 block from the police station).
