I was coming down from upstairs and noticed a curtain (sheer) covering the hall stair window was pulled apart. I thought to myself, I don't remember there being two sheers on that window, but one that I pull to the far side and tuck behind the curtain. I do this when the sugar maples out front are brilliant orange so guests don't miss them.
So I go in a bit closer and notice that the thing has been torn straight down the middle where there was a seam normally in the folds.
I have no idea how long it has been in the TEARING stage, I have never tried to force my way through it, only pushed it aside if I needed to look out that window.
The metal roof is right outside and heat comes off it, as well as blinding glare so I keep the sheer closed.
I hate when I find stuff like that! How long has it been that way and I certainly hope a guests didn't do that!
