Do you have a method for slicing the watermelon? I've got some that are a slab o' watermelon and others that are paper thin. Usually we just chunk it up so it's not really important..

I used the small personal seedless watermelon. Just sliced it into discs, about 1" thick, then pressed the cookie cutter into it. Some of them were a little too thick, so I just sliced it in half after I pressed the heart out.
.
We got the smaller watermelons but someone wouldn't use my suggestion of slicing off a bit of the rind to make the watermelon flat so it wouldn't roll around so much while cutting. Then someone kept giving me grief because I wasn't punching the shapes out fast enough.
I was able to cut some of them in half but I did some local crustaceans and I kept losing the claws. Which I ate.
We ended up with enough for 12 and two Tupperware containers of 'ends' for us to eat. I'm not doing the mint, just the watermelon shapes. I think this will be fun later on this week when we have 2 little kids here. Test run is tomorrow, tho.
