Twitter for Dummies?

I created a Facebook page for our Inn and a Twitter account. I have NO clue what Twitter is all about or how to work it. Anyone know of any simple tutorials?

Follow Forty Putney B&B on Facebook and Twitter - Tim Brady really uses it to his advantage like no one else I've seen. Hopton House B&B in the UK is another good one - although full disclosure, I stopped following her for awhile because it was too much!
You can get Facebook to feed automatically to Twitter from your fan page.
I will be doing a little session in it at the SR meeting in December - I will bring you a copy of my handouts.

If you need a tutorial for Twitter you're in over your head.

Tweets on Twitter should be short snippets of info for your guests, who you hope will find you and follow you. Upcoming events, specials, food, weather, helpful stuff that takes all of 140 characters to write. Or, make a nice long post on your blog and reference it on Twitter.
You can write a ton on Facebook and link FB to Twitter so your FB ramblings show up, truncated, on Twitter.

going on twitter, just be sure to check who is following you so you can remove them if they are random porn sites. these people immediately start following newbies. that's all i'm going to say.

But I should have been much more specific. I "get" what I want to do in terms of the social networking, but it's the actual nuts and bolts of posting that I just don't get. I set up the Twitter account and it automatically said I was following 20 people...and I didn't see any place to delete. I didn't have time to really sit and dissect it yet, hopefully next week.
Every time I think I have Facebook figured out they change it, this latest "Live Feed" thing is driving me nuts.

I think I have just one, with the b&b name...it said I was following 20 people, when I hadn't decided to follow anyone. And I can't see how to "unfollow" them. Hold on. If you have your own FB page as yourself, you can create a fan page for the inn that does not show who put the fan page up. That's the correct way to put up a business page. But then if you don't want anyone finding your personal page based on an inn search, don't mention the inn on your personal page and don't mention yourself on the inn's fan page. Make sense?

I found Twitter to be a waste and once the porn messages started coming to me..that was the last straw. I just deleted the account. I have Facebook and that seems to be working just fine for friends only.

It is fun, we just visited Tim yesterday. His Pub is really nice, even it's small but only for guests and they have beer tastings every saturday for guests.
