I had two waffle irons - Waring. Had them on a special circuit so the fuse wouldn't blow. Specially wired in the kitchen.
I did not want to have guests making them. Those things get hot.
Once you get them fired up, it only takes a few minutes to do a waffle. And they fill a plate! I never pre-made them. I had the side garnishes of fresh strawberries and or blueberries, and sausage or bacon all set and keeping hot in the oven. Real maple syrup, also blueberry from a local farm. My own whipped cream - so easy to make and have ready in the fridge.
Confession: I was constantly asked my waffle recipe. It was Krusteaz in a box! Why? Because I used to make the batter from scratch. One day I was missing an ingredient, ran over to the general store and all they had was Krusteaz. I got more raves for the mix than my own. SOLD! I would always tell the person asking to come to me later for the recipe, always hoping they'd forget! No one ever remembered..
