Koelbox, hier.......
I'm sure they are used occasionally in Europe, but I have never seen a European use one. To buy some ice in Europe I've been known to go to the back door of a restaurant and beg the people in the kitchen for some!Bommelhoeve said:Koelbox, hier......
Cooler. But I like chilly bin so I sometimes use that just because it's more fun to say. I learned that one from Aussie guests a few years ago..
Must have been Kiwis, that is a Kiwi term. Aussie's say Esky.happyjacks said:Cooler. But I like chilly bin so I sometimes use that just because it's more fun to say. I learned that one from Aussie guests a few years ago.
Hi, used a lot, just google "koelbox". However, NO ICE, we have the reuseable freeze packs........ Ice is only for skating..... Not for diluting drinks........Koelbox, hier.......I'm sure they are used occasionally in Europe, but I have never seen a European use one. I kid my husband about that all the time. Every time I went to the beach we piled everything into the Chilly Bin (his Mum) and put nothing to keep it cold. She would correct me and say that is why it is in the chilly bin. But being a kiwi she would have said Chully Bun.Bommelhoeve said:Hi, used a lot, just google "koelbox". Now that gave me a good laugh!!! Swamp cooler!!! I've never heard of doing that. I can just picture someone sitting in a chair in front of an ice chest with a fan blowing across it! TOO FUNNY!Ice Chest when used to keep drinks cold, Swamp Cooler when rigged to cool the air..

My house in Los Angeles had a central evaporating system. Otherwise known as a 'swamp cooler'. As the years progressed in LA, the area seemed to get more humidity and so that swap cooler just made us more sticky and hot. Great system in a desert, but no longer is LA a desert!Joey Bloggs said:We used swamp coolers.
