I just stayed one night at a place and when I went to take a shower I noticed a used washcloth slung over the curtain rod.
The room and bath seemed very clean except for that ... but it made me feel kind of nose wrinkly icky. The washcloth had dried and didn't fall when I moved the curtain, I looked up and saw it there and wrinkly.
There was a card in the room saying 'your room was carefully cleaned by Sonia'. I was tempted to leave 'Sonia' a note on the card telling her. But I didn't.
As I left, I hesitated at the desk thinking ... should I say something? I decided no, not to the receptionist. When I received an email asking how my stay was ... I did mention it in just the way I described it above noting that the room looked really clean except for that. ( I didn't mention feeling nose wrinkly icky ).
Would you want to be told? I wouldn't want to be seen as a pita and I'm not looking for anything other than to remind them that someone should check over the shower rod for things like that. (Didn't I see something deliberately left at Ark's by the traveling innkeepers with a note to always look up?)
I'm not above this ... at home where I live with housemates I rinsed out a sports bra and left it hanging on a little hook just inside the shower/tub and forgot about it. That's home and personal but it was an oops. And someone moved it and hung it out in the open on a towel bar.
